The Story Behind MUNI ART GALLERY

MUNI ART GALLERY is a secret base for artistic activity, where three artists with completely different styles and creative approaches—emuandemuz, munira_illust, and kočka—present their works, hold solo exhibitions, and plot new ideas together.

There is no fixed notion here of “how things should be.”
Each of the three creates the art they love, releases it into the world in their own way, and at times plays together through art.
MUNI ART GALLERY is not a place to line up finished answers,
but a place where we want to honestly offer the very impulses that drive us toward art.

The relationship between the three of us is a little unusual.
We live in distant places and have never met face to face.
Even so, we are deeply drawn to one another’s work, share sensations that cannot be put into words, and remain connected in a very relaxed way.

For me, who launched this site as the gallery’s curator,
the sensibilities and artworks of these two artists are something I deeply respect and truly love.
That is why I strongly felt the desire to deliver their appeal to people around the world in a form that we ourselves can wholeheartedly stand behind.

What we aimed for was
a meticulously crafted reproduction that feels as if you are holding the original artwork in your hands,
so real that it seems the paint might stain your fingers if you touched it.

Through giclée-printed art posters and canvas prints that reproduce as faithfully as possible the atmosphere of each work, the brushstrokes, and the layers of color,
we hope to deliver replicas as “paintings that truly exist”
to many people in the time to come.

MUNI ART GALLERY was born from the impulses, respect, and playfulness of the three of us.
And we hope that you, here with us now, will be surprised, moved, and delighted together with us.
That is our art.
