About Artwork :
This work, “Shizukana Asa (Silence Dawn)” was created as a profound homage to the painters of earlier eras who devoted themselves to their craft in dimly lit studios before the advent of electricity.
To re-experience those historical conditions in a contemporary context, kočka conducted an experiment by creating this piece in a completely darkened studio. Deprived of visual information, the artist relied solely on memory of color, brushwork, and intuition. As a result of pursuing color within darkness, deep pre-dawn blues, radiant morning whites, and the dreamlike transitional hues that connect them were fixed onto the canvas with a more instinctive and powerful touch. In particular, the path that emerges as it catches the light resembles a guiding signpost, pointing the way even amid difficult circumstances.
This is an exceptionally unique work in which reverence for art history merges seamlessly with a spirit of modern experimentation.

Based in Japan, kočka—known as “the painter of skies,”—creates gentle, light-filled landscapes using oil pastels. Inspiration is drawn from skies, plains, wetlands, and urban scenery.
